CeADAR has been Ireland's National Technology Centre for AI since 2013 and runs the European Digital Innovation Hub for AI. Through the EDIH programme it offers a Digital Maturity Assessment, prototype work under Test Before Invest, training and support to find investment — to start-ups, SMEs, mid-caps and public sector bodies, in any sector, across Ireland.
Those services are 100% discounted, funded by the European Commission and the Government of Ireland. The Digital Maturity Assessment is the first step and is required before Test Before Invest. Support is subject to de minimis state aid rules, which cap total aid at €300,000 over three years; public sector bodies are not subject to those rules. In December 2025 the programme was extended with €23 million across Ireland's hubs, €5.7 million of it to CeADAR, running to 2029.
We are telling you about a free alternative to part of what we sell, which is deliberate. If your question is whether a specific technical approach can work at all, a funded prototype is a better first move than paying anybody. Where it differs from what we do is scope: CeADAR is technical expertise and funded experimentation, not an embedded partner changing how a few hundred people work day to day. Plenty of businesses should use both, in that order.
